Two small lakes surrounded by Quenuales, typical Andean trees, below Urus mountain, spectacular viewpoint to see Huascaran wmountain, the highest peak of Peru. A hike of 16 Km (round trip), located in the East of the Cordillera Blanca, special for acclimatization purpose.

From Huaraz city (3100 m), we head to the North of the Callejón de Huaylas until Paltay town, from there we take the dirty road to Pashpa village (3550m), from this point we start to walk to Uruscocha 4330m, on the way we make an stop in Cochapampa (4670m), an impressive viewpoint of Huascaran moutain; we continue the journey by a path among 'quenuals', Andean typical trees, after of 2.5 hours we get to the first lake Yanacocha located at 4290m, then in 12 minutes more we arrive to Uruscocha located at 4330m; these two lakes are sorrounded by trees proper of this region most of them in flower, below Urus mountain 5450m. After to rest and having taken the photos we return for the same footpath to Pashpa village, where we take the vehicle to return in Huaraz. All the journey takes around 8 hours.
